Ananse

The ontology-powered operating system for African enterprise.

Ananse models your operation as a living ontology — every source connected, every object and relationship defined once, every decision automated and proven on the record.

Most organizations don't lack data. They lack a system to act on it.

The gap between knowing and doing is where value leaks out. Ananse closes it.

Without Ananse
  • Data scattered across systems no one can reconcile
  • Decisions made on numbers nobody fully trusts
  • No record of who changed what, or when
  • Insight that dies in a dashboard, never acted on
With Ananse
  • One governed model your whole organization shares
  • Live, lineage-tracked data people and machines trust
  • An immutable audit trail behind every decision
  • Workflows that turn insight into action — and prove it
Inside Ananse

From source to decision, in one place.

Most tools own one slice. Ananse runs the whole loop: integrate, model, analyze, act.

Step 01 — Integrate

Every source. One fabric.

Databases, files, APIs, and sensors pulled into one continuously synced foundation — no more arguing over which number is right.

  • Any database, file, or API
  • Streaming & batch
  • No data left behind

Integrate

Data integration

Connect what you already run on.

Ananse ships with more than thirty connector types — relational databases, Kafka, MQTT, and RabbitMQ streams, S3 and SFTP file drops, webhooks and raw sockets for everything else. Preview a connection before you commit to it, and watch records land as they arrive.

  • Databases, message queues, file servers, and live streams, out of the box
  • Schema mapping is declarative and versioned, so you can see exactly what changed
  • Fingerprinted ingestion — a re-run never creates a duplicate
  • Replay any past ingest with its original parameters, for exact reproducibility
Ontology & logic

Objects, properties, and relationships — modeled once.

Ananse represents your operation as a living ontology: typed objects, the properties that describe them, and the relationships that connect them — not flat tables and foreign keys. Analysts and machines reason over the same model, and every change to it is versioned.

  • Typed entities and typed relationships, with cardinality and scope built in
  • Version-controlled schema with full revision history
  • Domain ontologies you can clone as a starting template across organizations
  • Rich property types — hierarchical classifications, computed values, file attachments
Real-time analytics

Answers in seconds, governed every time.

Every query runs full-text and faceted search across your entire ontology, automatically scoped to what the person asking is allowed to see. Frequent questions return from cache in milliseconds; everything else still resolves in real time.

  • Full-text and faceted search with boolean queries and aggregations, not just keyword match
  • Every result pre-filtered by the same access control that governs the data itself
  • Tiered caching, invalidated automatically the moment the underlying model changes
  • Live notifications the instant a record you are watching is updated
Decision automation

From a click or a clock, to a logged outcome.

Ananse automations run real code against your ontology — triggered by a person taking an action, or on a schedule you set — and write the result back to the source system. Long-running jobs execute in the background so nothing blocks the person who started them.

  • Custom logic, not just rule templates — automations execute real functions against your data
  • Triggered by a person or a schedule, with background execution for anything long-running
  • Reusable as templates across your team, including ones generated with AI assistance
  • Every run, and its outcome, written to the audit log
Capabilities

Everything required to operationalize data — in one place.

01

Data integration

Connect hundreds of sources — databases, APIs, files, and streams — with managed connectors and a typed transformation layer.

02

Ontology modeling

Represent objects, relationships, and actions as a living ontology that analysts and machines reason over identically.

03

Real-time analytics

Sub-second queries across billions of records with a columnar engine tuned for operational, not just historical, workloads.

04

Decision automation

Run custom logic against your ontology, triggered by a person or a schedule, with every run and its outcome written to the audit log.

05

Collaborative analysis

Shared workspaces, annotations, and branching keep distributed teams aligned on a single source of truth.

06

Secure deployment

Run in cloud, on-premises, or fully air-gapped environments with the same governance guarantees everywhere.

Architecture

A layered stack, engineered for trust.

Each layer is independently secured, observable, and auditable. Data flows up from integration to action, while governance and lineage flow through every tier — so nothing happens without a record.

Layer 04

Application & action

Operational apps, alerts, and write-back surfaces for analysts and operators.

Layer 03

Ontology & logic

Objects, links, and actions modeled once and shared across every team.

Layer 02

Compute & query

A real-time engine for sub-second analytics over operational data at scale.

Layer 01

Integration & storage

Connectors, pipelines, and a governed store unifying every source of truth.

What is Ananse?
Ananse is Parotia’s data platform. It connects every source you run on, models your operation as it actually works, and turns that model into real-time decisions with a complete audit trail behind every one.
How is Ananse different from a data warehouse or BI tool?
A warehouse stores data. A BI tool charts it. Ananse does both, plus the parts most stacks leave out — ontology modeling, decision automation, and governance — in one system, so nothing falls into the gaps between tools.
What is an ontology in a data platform?
An ontology is a model of your operation built from typed objects — accounts, shipments, assets, cases — and the relationships between them, instead of flat tables and foreign keys. Ananse represents your business this way so analysts and machines reason over the same definitions, and a change to the model is versioned rather than silently breaking what depends on it.
What data sources can Ananse connect to?
Relational databases, Kafka, MQTT, and RabbitMQ streams, S3 and SFTP file drops, webhooks, and raw sockets — more than thirty connector types out of the box. You can preview a connection and see sample data before committing to it.
Can I see how my data model has changed over time?
Yes. Every change to your ontology is versioned with full revision history, so you can see exactly what changed and when, and re-ingest cleanly against the new version without breaking what already depends on the old one.
Can Ananse run on-premises or air-gapped?
Yes. Ananse deploys in the cloud, on your own infrastructure, or fully air-gapped, with the same governance and lineage guarantees in every environment.
How does Ananse keep data secure?
Access is enforced at the data layer with attribute-based permissions, every action writes to an immutable audit trail, and data is encrypted end-to-end with customer-managed keys.
Does Ananse work with SecureLink?
Yes, though neither requires the other. If you run both, the security events SecureLink detects can flow into Ananse — correlated with the rest of your operational data on the same governed record.

See it work on your operation.
